On Saturday, October 31 at 10:30am, the Georgia Job/Family Collaborative conducted a community leadership workshop on the Family Care Act legislation at Mildred Terry Library, 640 Veterans Parkway, Columbus GA.
Charmaine Davis, Georgia Director of 9to5, National Association of Working Women, facilitated the workshop.
The Family Care Act calls for employees with sick time to be able to use the time to care for a child or other household member who is ill. Participants learned how a bill becomes a law and how to meet with legislators about the Family Care Act.
